Former England netball player and head coach Tracey Neville has been appointed managing director of the Stockport County Women football team.
Neville, the younger sister of ex-England and Manchester United footballing brothers Gary and Phil, joins as the club rebrands from Stockport County Ladies.
The side, who were formed in 1989, play in the fourth tier of the women’s game in National League Division One North.
However, Stockport say they now aim to “become a superpower for women’s sport in our region”.
Neville won 81 caps for England as a netball player and coached the country to gold in the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the World Cup semi-finals in 2019.
The 49-year-old then coached Super Netball side Melbourne Mavericks in Australia for two years before leaving in August 2025.
