Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the improved performances against Burnley and Marseille: “Are you saying you thought Burnley was one of our better games? I thought I was the only one but now there’s two.

“I think you can include Arsenal to it as well as one of our better games. But I think we’ve played many, many good games this season which doesn’t always come to light if you’ve lost too many games because people are mainly looking at the league table and not a lot is positive.

“We’ve played quite a lot of good games and had quite a lot of good individual performances. We’ve spoken about Florian [Wirtz] that he lacked goals and assists in the beginning but he was so close and even now he could almost double it with the chances he s having or giving to his teammates.

“I can only see positives in this team in terms of progress but we have to adapt so many times in the season.

“We are already in a good place but this club will be a good place tomorrow and the day after and the day after.”
