Union Berlin have had a mixed start to the season, with seven points from their opening six matches. However, in those six they have faced giants Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen all away from home.
They have only managed to win one of their home matches so far this season, a 2-1 win over Stuttgart in the first match of the campaign.
Borussia Monchengladbach are yet to win in the Bundesliga this term, and are on a club record 13-match winless streak. Their last win in the Bundesliga was in March, a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig.
Gladbach’s start to the season has not just been bad on the pitch. Manager Gerardo Seoane was sacked just three games after the start of the season and sporting director Roland Virkus stepped down after five matches.
Union Berlin have a better record going into this fixture, having won six of the 12 times these two sides have met in the Bundesliga. However, Gladbach beat their opponents both home and away last season.
