    Glasgow City 1-1 Celtic

Celtic slipped to third in the SWPL despite coming from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw against league leaders Glasgow City.

Despite an even contest for the opening 15 minutes, City began to ramp up the pressure.

Emily Whelan fired over the crossbar while Lisa Forrest had her shot blocked inside the box by Celtic defender Tara O’Hanlon.

There was a lengthy stoppage in the first half when Lisa Forrest caught Emma Lawton on the side of the head and the right-back had to be replaced by new signing Maddi Wilde.

It took until the 63rd minute for City to find the breakthrough and it came from a goalkeeping error. Lisa Rodgers spilled the ball on her six-yard line and Nicole Kozlova was there to tap the ball over the line.

But Celtic levelled 10 minutes later thanks to a clinical finish from Morgan Cross who tapped in from Maria McAneny’s pinpoint delivery.

Lee Gibson in the City goal had to pull off an impressive save to deny McAneny from a free-kick just before full-time.

City remain top of the SWPL but Hearts have closed the gap to three points. Meanwhile Celtic slipped to fourth after Rangers’ big win at Hamilton Accies.
