Northern Ireland’s Nations League promotion/relegation play-off second leg in Iceland has been postponed because of heavy snow.

The game was scheduled to take place at Laugardalsvollur Stadium in Reykjavik on Tuesday at 18:00 GMT.

A statement from the KSI, Iceland’s football association, said “the situation and the way forward are being examined”.

The match could be rescheduled on Wednesday or could take place in the next international window, which runs from the end of November to the start of December.

More snow is forecast to fall in Iceland’s capital during the remainder of Tuesday into Wednesday.

Iceland hold a two-goal lead from the first leg in Ballymena on Friday thanks to goals from Glodis Viggosdottir and Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir.

Tanya Oxtoby’s young Northern Ireland side are aiming to win promotion to League A for the first time.

The Nations League play-off was to be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport app and website, and the men’s Irish Premiership game between Linfield and Coleraine will now be broadcast.
