The Cincinnati Bengals have officially re-signed veteran quarterback Logan Woodside, according to a team press release issued on Wednesday. While terms of the contract were not disclosed, the move adds depth to the Bengals quarterback roster behind Joe Burrow and Jake Browning ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
Woodside, a former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, spent the 2024 season with Cincinnati, largely serving in a reserve role. The 30-year-old was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 7th round of the 2018 NFL Draft after a standout career at the University of Toledo.
He reunited with former Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith when he joined Atlanta in late 2022. During his stint with the Falcons, Woodside appeared in two games, including the 2023 season finale against the New Orleans Saints, where he completed 3 of 4 passes for 27 yards and an interception.
Over his NFL career, Woodside has played sparingly, logging just seven pass attempts for 34 total yards and one interception. Despite limited in-game action, he has consistently filled the role of a reliable backup quarterback and has now returned to Cincinnati to support the Bengals’ quarterback unit.
With Joe Burrow returning from injury and Jake Browning firmly established as the primary backup, Woodside provides added security and veteran experience as the Bengals prepare for training camp and the 2025 regular season.
